Starting all over again.

So, three weeks ago the district I so enjoy working in finally closed down and became its own independent police agency. They no longer had a contract with the County and instead decided to start their own police department.

What does this mean for me? I had to find a new home.

I chose to transfer to the only other district in the county that had the same crime/violence levels which is just 30 blocks south of the area I formerly worked in.

Sadly though, my unit was disbanded as each district has their own people in their own units.

Batman and I put in for the same squad on midnights and have been riding around as a twoman unit (both of us in the same car) so we’re still partners. We are back in uniform patrol handling calls for service for the time being.

That being said, I’ve already been asked to interview for this new districts Jumpout unit and there is also an opening in their undercover unit, which I’ll also be interviewing for.

Another issue with this district is it’s extremely junior. Out of the Nine people on my squad, Seven of them have only been on the job for 5-9 months. They are all still on probation and to be honest it shows.

My new Sergeant is a good one. Which is always a plus. He’s been on the job for a long time but recently got promoted. The brass of the badge color hasn’t gotten to his head so he’s still a good guy.

So thats whats new.

I’m in uniform, in a new district, on midnights and still have my partner to do police work with.
